Congratulations to Alex Spishakoff for getting crowned as the King of the Causeway for this year. The competition consisted of a grueling 52-mile race in the morning, followed by a a 6-mile race across the Queen Isabella Memorial causeway in the evening. Additionally, we had a couple of other podium finishers: Lauren Galbreath and Sergio Garza. Congratulations to all! More pictures coming soon.

The social ride was awesome! Folks had a blast riding around town discovering the sights and sounds in the cool Fall weather. There is already talk of next month’s social ride which will take place around Halloween, and will feature a new route around town. Folks are definitely welcome to ride the bikes in their costumes. In the meantime, check out the BCT Social Ride photo album in our gallery section, and the video below. Also, let us know which day works best for you, for the next social ride on the poll below

** SPISH Adds: So people are asking about the quad, what it is where is it and all that.. so here’s a link to the utpa pdf campus map http://www.utpa.edu/maps/campusmap.pdf and it’s the section marked Q-N and Q-S for quad north quad south. we’ll be in that area for the start of the ride.

The official cycling kits of the Bronc Cycling Team are now in, and our members have been wearing them around during our rides. People have been inquiring about how to get their hands on our jerseys and shorts, and we’ve come to an agreement with Veloce; We are now taking orders on BCT cycling kits. If you are interested in ordering one, please get in contact with either:

Join us for the 20th annual Jalapeño Hundred Ride, Run & Walk. The Jalapeño Hundred has been a fun ride benefitting Harlingen Youth Athletics, Harlingen Boys & Girls Club and other select not for profit organizations. Despite the challenges of the summer, we are looking forward to another great year.
While the Saturday ride is strictly for fun, you are invited to test your endurance against our South Texas winds. Also, fun family activities are being planned. Last year over 500 riders and runners from around the state, across the country, Canada and Mexico attended and we hope to have them back this year. We hope you can join us!
